Biberk claims that since the cut out the middleman (insurance agents) they can save you 20% on your small business insurance costs.

Products Offered by BiBERK Small Business Insurance

Biberk offers the following types of small business insurance:

  • Workers’ compensation
  • Professional liability
  • General liability
  • Business owner’s policy (combines general liability with commercial property)
  • Commercial auto
  • Umbrella

Biberk claims they can save you up to 20%, but some policies are customized depending on your business, location, payroll, etc. that it’s hard for us to tell is this is true—it could be, but you’ll have to shop around to be sure.

Workers’ Compensation: the cost of workers’ compensation insurance ranges from .75 per $100 in payroll to $2.74 per $100 in Alaska. This is required by law in most states and protects your workers if they are injured or become ill on the job.

In addition to policy information, Biberk has a whole library of resources, training videos, safety modules, and webinars you can access, and will increase safety in your workplace. There are over 350 videos, making it one of the largest online safety training libraries on the market.

Professional Liability: starts at $300/yr. Professional liability insurance protects you if you make an honest mistake or are unable to fulfill a contract on time. Depending on professions, it can be called malpractice insurance or errors and omissions insurance.

General liability: starts at $275 a year. General liability insurance covers third party injuries (not your employees) and property damage that you cause to someone else’s property.

BOP: starts at $500/yr. A Business Owner’s policy combines general liability insurance with commercial property insurance. Commercial property insurance protects your own property and the contents of it.

Commercial auto: This is actually outsourced to Geico. Commercial auto insurance protects any vehicles you use for business.

Umbrella: average of $200 to $400 a year. Umbrella insurance coverage kicks in when a claim exceeds the limits of another policy. You have to have the appropriate policy in the first place, though. For example, if you are sued for an accident involving one of your commercial vehicles, you can’t use umbrella coverage to cover the costs if you don’t have a commercial auto policy that has been maxed out.

If your state does require it, Biberk does not carry disability benefits insurance, so you would have to look elsewhere for that.

Biberk covers many different industries and are available in all fifty states. Some of the industries they cover include:

  • Accounting and finance
  • Auto services
  • Construction and contracting
  • IT
  • Retail
  • Apartments and other buildings
  • Cleaning businesses
  • Health care
  • Landscaping
  • Restaurants and bars
  • Transportation

Financial Strength Rating of BiBERK Small Business Insurance

Since Biberk is backed by Berkshire Hathaway, it should come as no surprise that they have an

A++ rating by A.M. Best. You can’t get a higher financial strength rating than that. They definitely have plenty of resources to pay claims.

Customer Satisfaction Rating of BiBERK Small Business Insurance

Biberk is too new to appear on J.D. Power’s Small Commercial Insurance Study, so we will consider other sources.

Biberk gets an A- rating from the BBB, and they have been accredited since 2017. What’s really interesting, though, is that they have 80 customer reviews, with an average review score of 4.11 out of 5. Considering that many people go to the Better Business Bureau to complain, this is impressive. There are only six complaints in the last three years, and just two in the last year. If you scroll through the reviews, there are a few one-star reviews mixed in with the five star reviews. Those reviews complain mostly about the workers compensation insurance or the communication (being billed after canceling, being cancelled even after making payments and things like that).

Consumer Complaints Rating of BiBERK Small Business Insurance

Biberk doesn’t show up in a NAIC search. Overall, customer reviews of Biberk are very positive. On Facebook, they get an average rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars. Yelp doesn’t have reviews for them at all, which is probably good news for Biberk.

Digital Experience Rating of BiBERK Small Business Insurance

Biberk was launched to make small business insurance fast and easy. You can get a quote online in minutes, whatever your industry. You can pay for the insurance and be on your way in about ten minutes. If you need insurance right away, Biberk can accommodate you.

You can also get a certificate of insurance immediately, pay your bill or file a claim online. If you have questions, there is a lengthy list of potential questions in the FAQ’s section that you can reference (although the sections for commercial auto, umbrella, and professional liability insurance are “Coming Soon”). If your question isn’t there, you can call and speak with someone.

To compare several online quotes in one place conveniently, you may want to consider working with a digital broker like CoverWallet, Simply Business, or commercialinsurance.net. They will be able to provide you with several quotes of their partners once you provide your information.

Last Thoughts

Amazing financial strength, great customer reviews and a fast and easy quote process make Biberk a top pick for small business insurance. They claim they can save you up to 20% over other carriers as well. Since there is no broker fees, prices are at least competitive, but how much you pay depends on your state, your claims history, and your industry. Biberk is an excellent choice.
